Verification Policy
Last updated: 4 May 2026
TrustReviews is built on a simple promise: every review you read is written by an identity-verified human who has actually used the broker they describe. This page explains how we make that promise real.
1. Why we verify
The trading review industry is unfortunately plagued by paid reviews, bot-generated content, and coordinated rating manipulation. Verifying every reviewer is the most effective single defence against those practices and is the reason TrustReviews is read by serious traders before opening an account.
2. What we check at sign-up
- E-mail ownership. We send a confirmation link to the address you supply.
- Identity uniqueness. We screen for duplicate accounts across our user database.
- Anti-fraud signals. Disposable e-mail providers, suspicious IPs, and known bot patterns trigger additional review.
- Manual moderation. A human moderator reviews every new sign-up before approval.
3. How long verification takes
Most accounts are verified within 24 hours. Sign-ups that trigger our anti-fraud signals may take up to 72 hours while we run additional checks. We will e-mail you the moment your account is approved.
4. What we do not collect
We do not require you to upload government identity documents to register. Sign-up is name plus e-mail, with optional further verification only if our automated screening flags an unusual pattern. We aim to keep verification light enough that real traders join, and tight enough that fakes do not slip through.
5. Review-level checks
Once your account is verified, your published reviews are still subject to editorial moderation:
- Reviews must be written in your own words.
- Reviews must reflect a first-hand experience with the broker named.
- Repeated reviews of the same broker from the same account are not accepted.
- Reviews containing personal data of third parties, hate speech, or threats are removed.
6. What happens if we suspect fraud
If we detect signs of coordinated review activity, paid review submissions, or impersonation, we will:
- Place the affected account into "review hold" and pause publication of new reviews;
- Contact you to request additional verification;
- If fraud is confirmed, terminate the account and remove all associated reviews.
7. Disputes from brokers
Brokers and platforms may flag a review they believe is incorrect or in bad faith. We investigate every dispute. We do not remove reviews simply because a broker dislikes their content — only when there is clear evidence of policy violation.
8. Transparency
Each review on TrustReviews is published with a "Verified" badge that confirms the author has passed our verification process. Reviews from accounts that have not yet completed verification are not published.
9. Reporting a review
Spotted a review you believe is fake or inappropriate? Click the "Report" button on any review or e-mail moderation@trust-reviews-trading.com. Every report is read.
10. Changes to this policy
We will keep this Verification Policy current and update it as our methods evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
